 Homelessness in South London

outline of the project: this project is based around the homelessness going on in south london.

aims of the project
The aim of this project is to make people aware of homelessness in their area and how we should stop ignoring them and think of ways to help get them back on their feet. I wish to make people aware of the fact that the number of people sleeping rough on the streets of London
target audience
The target audience of my documentary is everyone as i believe that this is a message for everyone to hear even though homelessness is not an issue in all areas it is still possible for people in different communities to help with situation but they do not due to be them being unaware of the situation I also believe everyone should watch this is because the areas that are suffering with extreme homelessness are used by all of us such as croydon shopping centre as people from all over south come to use this well known shopping centre but are unaware of the vast people living in dirty allies, car parks and behind some of the most used stores.

timescale
My aim is to complete filming with in a maximum of two weeks and have the final edit prepared after another week.

different types of brief

There are two different types of brief, contractual and cooperatives. Contractual briefs is where a client well hire a media company to complete a project while following all instructions giving in the brief. Cooperative briefs on the other hand are very brief and giving out to multiple media companies instead of just the one, because there are more then one media companies competing on one project it allows them more freedom to try and do things there way instead of already being told how things should be done by the client.

why is it important to follow a brief

it is important for the media companies to follow the brief given to them by the employer because it makes things easier for them as it well tell them in detail what the product is and what they want them to do with it. for example if the company does not fully understand what they are being asked to do the brief is full with content to help them understood what they are being asked to do.

why do you need to negotiate

being able to negotiate with the employer allows for improvements to be made where the employer may not have seen. it also helps the media company get the better over their competitors who have also been hired to work on the project as it allows their project to have more individuality.

why do you need to identify your strengths and weaknesses

it is important to identify your strengths  and weaknesses as it underlines what part of the project you should put your attention to.

what are the most important things to consider; deadlines and reading it correctly

The most important thing to consider is that the project is completed o the set deadline and that the brief has been read correctly if it is a contractual so the employer is satisfied with the project.

Project summary:

This project is based around making people aware of homelessness in their area and how we should stop ignoring them and think of ways to help get them back on their feet. i wish to make people aware of the fact that the number of people sleeping rough on the streets of London has risen by over one-third in the past year, new government figures reveal. The crisis has prompted homelessness charities to call for sweeping reforms but unfortunately alot of people are un aware of these figures, so the aim of my documentary is to bring these kind of things to light.

Target Audience:
The target audience of my documentary is everyone as i believe that this is a message for everyone to hear even though homelessness is not an issue in all areas it is still possible for people in different communities to help with situation but they do not due to be them being unaware of the situation.
I also believe everyone should watch this is because the areas that are suffering with extreme homelessness are used by all of us such as croydon shopping centre as people from all over south come to use this well known shopping centre but are unaware of the vast people living in dirty allies, car parks and behind some of the most used stores.

Perception/tone/guidelines:

i want this documentary to be serious containing a lot of factual information.

Homelessness questionnaire summary/evaluation.

1. Why do you think there are so many homeless people in the uk?
A lot of the people who believe a lot of people end up homeless due to the lack of jobs. But statistics show that the most common reasons for people going homeless are; drugs, alcoholism, relationship breakdowns etc…

2. What’s your reaction when you see a homeless person on the street?

There was a vast variety of different answers to this question some people said they would just wonder how the homeless person ended up there, others that they would just feel naturally bad for them and there were the few that said they would just try to avoid eye contact to prevent an awkward situation.
